Taleum nasal spray is used for the preventive treatment of allergic rhinitis ("hay fever"). The product has a local effect on the nasal mucosa and is thus suitable for the long-term prevention of the symptoms of seasonal and chronic allergic rhinitis. It does not have an immediate effect of relieving "nasal congestion," therefore the formulation alone is not suitable for treating the symptoms of acute rhinitis, but its combination with other antiallergic drugs may be beneficial. Contact your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or get worse.

Recommended dose: The average daily dose for adults is 4-6 times 1 puff in each nostril (21.6 - 32.4 mg / day). When the nozzle is pressed once (“for 1 puff”), 2.7 mg of active substance is released from the glass container. Use in children and adolescents: The average daily dose for children over 5 years of age is 4-6 times 1 puff in each nostril (21.6-32.4 mg / day). Taleum nasal spray is not recommended for use in children below 5 years of age due to insufficient data on safety and efficacy. Special populations: Elderly patients may use the usual dose. To prevent the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever), preventive treatment should be started 2 to 4 weeks before the expected onset of symptoms and continue until the factors involved in causing the symptoms (eg seasonal pollen in the air) have disappeared. Prolonged use of the product in the treatment of chronic allergic rhinitis may alleviate the severity of symptoms. Treatment should be discontinued gradually (over approximately 1 week) to avoid recurrence of rhinitis. When using, the glass container should be held with the nozzle facing up and the dispenser placed in the nose. The nasal spray dosing pump must be primed before the first use - after removing the protective cap - by actuating the valve (pumping into the air until the spray appears). It may be necessary to prime the pump even if the product has not been used for a long time.
